While I’m on this mission to knock out 50000 words in 30 days (NaNoWriMo: see links on banner above) I won’t be doing any heavy duty posting. But, I don’t see why I can’t take out a few minutes to shout out my faves (in numerous categories).
First off, my favorite Photo blogs (on Japan)
They are as follows (in no particular order) :
1- Muza-Chan’s Gate to Japan: Enough cannot be said about Muza-chan and her photo work. I just think she is the total bomb! Her photo a day photos are always top-notch and she must live on the Internet, cuz she continuously updates. And look at her kickass avatar/anime alias! You must check her out! Tell her Loco sent you!
2-LoneleePlanet– I don’t know how he does it, but Ree-san manages to find the most excellent photos and (at the same time) find the funny in them…sometimes the funny goes without saying. Can get a little naughty sometimes, but for my taste it’s right on the money. Check him out! Tell him Loco sent you!
3- Japan Dave – Talk about some awesome photos! I mean, the man has an incredible eye for subject and light. Here you’ll find some unique photos and insights. Plus, he gives away an HDR photo every single day! Can’t beat that with a baseball bat! Check him out! Tell him Loco sent you!
4-MJG– Short for the incomparable Micheal John Grist, Haikyo (ruins) photographer extraordinaire! I wasn’t really into ruins, or at least I didn’t know I was into ruins, until I peeped this man’s work! Now, on the down low, Loco is a closet Haikyo fan! My guilty pleasure. This blog provides plenty…more than a photographer, he’s an awesome writer as well. Check him out. Tell him Loco sent you!
5-Gakuranman– Here’s another Cat who does ruins (haiyou) like nobody’s business. Like MJG above, he finds those hidden treasures throughout Japan and shoots the hell out of them, then writes very savory prose that draws you in to share the experience with him. The pages explode with his enthusiasm for his work. You’ll be glad you paid him a visit! Tell him Loco sent you!
6-I, CJW– And, last but by no means least, we have I, CJW. photographer, writer, mountaineer extraordinaire. I can hardly do his blog justice. You simply must go there and have the I, CJW experience for yourself. You will feel like you’ve left this dimension and entered another realm, almost magical, where the shit that irks you about life doesn’t exist. Only the beauty and song that God intended. Tell him Loco sent you!
Well, that’s about it for now…I’ll be back with more recommendations soon!
If I missed you, let me know…always on the look out for some cool photos!
