That kids eyes freak me out….reincarnation? Looks like a wise sage lookin out from those kids eyes…or a serial killer..

Yeah, same here. Reminded me of Ju-on, a movie that freaked me the hell out! And i usually laugh at horror movies.

That last one "tells the best story".

    • Locohama 18 June 2011 at 9:15 pm Permalink

Yeah, I have to agree. As far as storytelling goes… I think compositiona dn other factors have to go into consideration too though. Photography is a trip!

    Very cool photos.

you're getting really good at 'shooting from the hip' technique, so more faces! But the moving railroad car got my vote.

    • Locohama 18 June 2011 at 9:17 pm Permalink

Well, that's very nice of you to say. Like many things I guess the more you do it the easier it gets…"from the hip" lol Almost a literal description of how it's done. Thanks for the shout

It's inspiring to see what you capture with you iPhone. You've got a great eye for the beauty of the everyday.

The Golden Girls get my vote this week!

    • Locohama 18 June 2011 at 9:19 pm Permalink

Yeah, i think I'm most proud of that one. I remember getting it vividly. I had to really push myself and say fuck it, if they angry so what I'll have the shot!! that's bad isn't it? Oh well, what's done is done and I'd do it again! Thanks for the shout Anna, and the tweets!

    Great shots, Loco :)
I like the last two best. Gave my vote to "Waiting" because I like the colours and composition.

    • Locohama 18 June 2011 at 9:21 pm Permalink

Well thank you franey darling! Yeah I'm a big fan of that waiting shot. When i saw how it came out the first thing that came to mind was when the spaceship was landing in "Close Encounters of the third kind" and the aliens got off…lol Can you picture that scene?

      • franeymoon 18 June 2011 at 9:30 pm Permalink

Haha, I don't know that movie but I can imagine something like that.

        • Locohama 18 June 2011 at 9:48 pm Permalink

          peep this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoyPu95yCxw&fe

Actually they kind of favor nihonjin, the aliens…in the eyes. and the kawaiiness…and many other things throughout the movie now that i think about it. Maybe Steven Spielberg had Japanese in mind when he designed ET. He is a WWII fanatic after all, and has made no less than 3 movies about Japanese in WWII…hmmm

          • franeymoon 18 June 2011 at 11:33 pm Permalink

Interesting thoughts. ET looks very much like a Japanese ojii-chan *lol*

          • Locohama 19 June 2011 at 12:49 am Permalink

You're right, more so even than the close encounters aliens

  8. lina219 18 June 2011 at 10:26 pm Permalink

I like the caption of "Bird torture chamber". That kid with scary eyes is my fave photo though. :)

  9. Locohama 19 June 2011 at 12:49 am Permalink

Yeah i worked all…nah I can't lie, i worked on them about a minute each, basically whatever came to mind as i took a last look at the result of filtering and cropping and editing and had got ready to send it to instagram. Yeah those eyes are something! thanks for the shout Lina

love the photos – this is really what Japan looks like that so many tourists don't get before they come, they only imagine the stylized, kimono clad formal people- I love how you have captured so much natural character in your shots

I watched Ju-On back in the States when it came out in 2003. I guess people didn’t get the movie at all but I heard someone in the very back say aloud :” Damn I hate little Japanese children, they’re so creepy!”. Best line all night. of course I don’t agree with that statement.
