Here are the best of my shots this week. All were taken with my Iphone and processed using Instagram. Check them out, and let me know what you think! There’s a poll below, vote for your fave! Hopefully it’s getting more dificult to choose (-;
Suddenly hydrangea appeared this week.
Cute couple holding hands.
Yes, people do eat on trains here.
I wonder what’s the secret ingredient in those straberry frappacinos…
Hmmmm….
My first thought was “ju-on“ but he’s a great kid.
Ouch!
Poor birds.
Under new management?
“Come on already…geez!”
“And the card attached will say…”
Well, that’s about it for this week. Cast your vote in the poll below! And drop me a line, let me know why you dug it. Any tips would be appreciated as well…all you pros out there, show an amateur some love!
(BTW the winner of last week’s poll was “Corridor & Steps“)
This post was submitted to Show Me Japan Vol.1 Issue 30 over at Budget Trouble: Travel and Trouble in Japan. Please check out this blog for advice and tips about travel in Japan and for many excellent pictures of life in and around Japan.

Raw Like Sushi
That kids eyes freak me out….reincarnation? Looks like a wise sage lookin out from those kids eyes…or a serial killer..
Yeah, same here. Reminded me of Ju-on, a movie that freaked me the hell out! And i usually laugh at horror movies.
That last one "tells the best story".
Yeah, I have to agree. As far as storytelling goes… I think compositiona dn other factors have to go into consideration too though. Photography is a trip!
Very cool photos.
Thank you Sir!!!
you're getting really good at 'shooting from the hip' technique, so more faces! But the moving railroad car got my vote.
Well, that's very nice of you to say. Like many things I guess the more you do it the easier it gets…"from the hip" lol Almost a literal description of how it's done. Thanks for the shout
It's inspiring to see what you capture with you iPhone. You've got a great eye for the beauty of the everyday.
The Golden Girls get my vote this week!
Yeah, i think I'm most proud of that one. I remember getting it vividly. I had to really push myself and say fuck it, if they angry so what I'll have the shot!! that's bad isn't it? Oh well, what's done is done and I'd do it again! Thanks for the shout Anna, and the tweets!
Great shots, Loco
I like the last two best. Gave my vote to "Waiting" because I like the colours and composition.
Well thank you franey darling! Yeah I'm a big fan of that waiting shot. When i saw how it came out the first thing that came to mind was when the spaceship was landing in "Close Encounters of the third kind" and the aliens got off…lol Can you picture that scene?
Haha, I don't know that movie but I can imagine something like that.
peep this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoyPu95yCxw&fe…
Actually they kind of favor nihonjin, the aliens…in the eyes. and the kawaiiness…and many other things throughout the movie now that i think about it. Maybe Steven Spielberg had Japanese in mind when he designed ET. He is a WWII fanatic after all, and has made no less than 3 movies about Japanese in WWII…hmmm
Interesting thoughts. ET looks very much like a Japanese ojii-chan *lol*
You're right, more so even than the close encounters aliens
I like the caption of "Bird torture chamber". That kid with scary eyes is my fave photo though.
Yeah i worked all…nah I can't lie, i worked on them about a minute each, basically whatever came to mind as i took a last look at the result of filtering and cropping and editing and had got ready to send it to instagram. Yeah those eyes are something! thanks for the shout Lina
love the photos – this is really what Japan looks like that so many tourists don't get before they come, they only imagine the stylized, kimono clad formal people- I love how you have captured so much natural character in your shots
I watched Ju-On back in the States when it came out in 2003. I guess people didn’t get the movie at all but I heard someone in the very back say aloud :” Damn I hate little Japanese children, they’re so creepy!”. Best line all night. of course I don’t agree with that statement.
