Dear Loco and CJ,
Your spoken voices are quite different from the voices I hear in my head when I read your writing. Had I been paying closer attention, I would have attempted to send in questions before your ‘live’ interview. In the future, if you, Loco, happen to do more interviews, would you be willing to field a few questions from your audience in advance?
One set of questions I would have liked to have asked to CJ and Loco would’ve gone something like this: Now that you’ve both in in country for some time, how do you feel when someone expresses an interest in coming to Japan? What would you say to the short-term visitor, say a tourist, and then what would you say to someone who expresses interest in trying it out for at least a few years? And, if either of you were thinking about staying on the rock for the long hall, how do you think that would effect the views you have of this place right now?
One to CJ: As a student of art, do you have any interest in vising a place such as Benesse Art Site Naoshima, or are you more attuned to what is going on in the cities with fashion?
One to Loco: What could you see yourself doing here in another ten years?
Anyway, it’s the kind of stuff I would have liked to have asked.
